| Midwest Library Service, in
collaboration with OCLC, is pleased to announce the availability of WorldCat Cataloging Partners service.
What is WorldCat Cataloging Partners? WorldCat Cataloging Partners is fast, automatic copy cataloging. With WorldCat Cataloging Partners, your Library Staff receives books from Midwest Library Service and corresponding bibliographic records from WorldCat, the OCLC Online Union Catalog. When physical processing is combined with the WorldCat Cataloging Partners service, the books arrive at the Library shelf-ready. What about processing? Midwest Library Service has been processing books for over 45 years. Your Library Staff has the option of requesting labels with call numbers from records copied by WorldCat Cataloging Partners service. Several formats are available, and your label preferences are indicated on your WorldCat Cataloging Partners profile. Based on local decisions, books can be delivered to the Library shelf-ready with barcodes, security strips, book jackets, spine/pocket labels, cards, pockets, date due slips, property stamps, book plates, etc. Additionally, local data may be added to your bibliographic records. General information about WorldCat is available from an OCLC-produced PDF document. Complete information about OCLCs WorldCat Cataloging Partners service is available from your OCLC-affiliated Regional Network, an OCLC distributor, or directly from OCLC at http://www.oclc.org/catalogingpartners/default.htm. The OCLC WorldCat Cataloging Partners profile worksheet is available through OCLC. However, you must obtain a vendor customer ID from your Midwest Library Service Representative. For information about participation in the WorldCat Cataloging Partners program and for information about book processing, please contact your Midwest Library Service Representative at 800.325.8833 or by email. |
